ARTIST STATEMENT
Saranya Chandrasekaran is an inter-disciplinary artist based in the San Francisco Bay area. Saranya’s artistic practice is motivated by the interplay of nature, science, memories, and identity. She strives to help audiences see the unseen—both literally and philosophically. Through paintings, drawings, and mixed media, she explores bold expressions of emotion and the subtleties of perception, often drawing inspiration from expressionism, impressionism, and experimental art.
Nature serves as her primary muse; she is captivated by the various layers that compose our visible and invisible world. This fascination sometimes leads her to incorporate technology into her work, allowing her to experiment and innovate in ways that deepen the viewer’s experience.
Saranya hopes her artworks kindle a spark of curiosity, inviting viewers to pause and reflect on the beauty and complexity of life. She firmly believes that art enriches our existence, encouraging us to slow down and appreciate the finer details around us.
